BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Elections Office issued a statement for Kern County voters who have been displaced due to the Borel Fire. Officials with the elections divisions say if you have been temporarily displaced you can do one of the following: Keep your current address: You can continue using your registered permanent address to vote if you plan on returning to your residence and mail delivery has been disrupted. Update your mailing address: You can re-register and update your mailing address to be sent to a family member or friend's house, a post office box or your place of work. Remote Accessible Vote-by-Mail: You can request an RAVBM and a system will deliver ballots to voters electronically. If this option is selected voters can access and mark a ballot in a screen-readable format with internet access. This is not internet voting. Officials say if you have been permanently displaced, you can update your residence by registering or requesting a Remote Accessible Vote-by-Mail.
