"Bakersfield's story is about a community coming together to create change and the unity map was a symbol of their ability to agree on a better future, and it meant a lot to me that people put their trust in me to tell me their stories and to be able to come back today and to celebrate that and to talk about what's happened in the aftermath of the redistricting is just a really deeply moving thing for me," Yarnold said.
