BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center is set to host a breast screening event on Oct. 18. Officials with Adventist Health say the free screening is available for Kern County women who are uninsured. The event is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Adventist Health Breast Center at 2700 Chester Ave. Availability for the screening is limited and reservations are encouraged. To make an appointment call 661-323-4673. Officials with the cancer center say during an exam the healthcare provider checks the breast's size, shape and appearance looking for differences.
