An Uber Eats driver told by a customer to deliver her order through an open window at her Bronx apartment left the food — then walked away with a purse stuffed with $10,000 lying on the sill, the NYPD said.   The 27-year-old woman gave instructions that her food should be deposited through an open window at her Haviland Ave. home near Olmstead Ave. in Unionport when she placed an order through the Uber Eats app around 2:40 a.m. on Sept. 13, cops said. Surveillance footage shows the delivery driver stroll past the victim’s window and leave the food at her door inside the building instead. The driver then heads back to an e-bike parked outside and appears ready to leave when he notices the victim’s purse window on sill of the open window and grabs it, the footage shows. “We have no tolerance for this kind of behavior. We’ve removed the courier account’s access to the Uber platform and are continuing to look into this further,” an Uber spokesman said Thursday. “We have reached out to the NYPD to offer our assistance in their investigation.” Anyone with information that could lead police to the suspect is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stopper’s Hotline at (800) 577-TIPS.
