OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) -- A man who allegedly broke into a downtown Oakland shoe store early Thursday morning apparently got stuck inside before police arrived to handcuff him. The Oakland Police Department responded just after 2 a.m. to 598 Seventh Street on a report of a burglary, authorities said. According to The Shoe Spot's owner, he received a call from a neighbor about his business, which has been in operation for at least 27 years, being burglarized and learned that the suspect broke a small glass panel to gain entry. Oakland police officers arrived to take the suspect inside the business into custody and are seen on video (watch above) leading a man out of the store in handcuffs. The store’s owner said there was no loss to the store other than the damages to his window. After a break-in two years ago, the store’s security had been reinforced, he said.
