Notre Dame, Allentown grab top two seeds in CVC Field Hockey Tournament
Oct 10, 2024
The seedings for the inaugural Colonial Valley Conference Tournament have been released, and Notre Dame (11-1) and Allentown (11-4) have gained the top two seeds.
The tournament gets underway Friday at the site of the higher seed and the quarterfinals are set for Monday, the semifinals will be at Hightstown High on Wednesday and the final is set for Friday also at Hightstown.
Here’s a look at Friday’s games:
— No. 14 Nottingham (1-12) at No. 3 Hopewell Valley (10-2)
— No. 13 Ewing ( 2-10) at No. 4 Lawrence (8-4-1)
— No. 12 Hamilton West (3-10-2) at No. 5 Princeton (5-6)
— No. 11 West Windsor-Plainsboro North (3-10-2) at No. 6 Princeton Day (4-7)
— No. 10 Steinert (4-8) at No. 7 Robbinsville (4-8-1)
— No. 9 Hightstown (5-7-2) at No. 8 WW-P South (4-6-1)
Certainly the most interesting game of opening round is the WW-P South contest with Hightstown as both are still in the chase for the Valley Division title. No Valley Division team has a win over any Colonial team this season.
There are several teams with a lot of motivation going into the tournament as Lawrence, Princeton and Robbinsville definitely will be looking as things as a second season.
Allentown and Hopewell Valley are anxiously awaiting a chance to settle a score, or two and Notre Dame is hoping to prove the seeding is correct.
