Dollar General armed robbery suspect arrested by West Warwick police

WEST WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — West Warwick police have arrested a man they’re saying robbed a Dollar General store at gunpoint Tuesday.
Mark S. Montefusco, 60, of Coventry, was taken into custody and is charged with first-degree robbery.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:11 p.m. on Tuesday when an employee for the Dollar General at 1029 Main Street called police stating they had just been robbed at gunpoint.
The suspect fled the scene with an undetermined amount of cash.
His description and that of a possible vehicle were obtained and an area search was conducted, which did not turn up the suspect or vehicle.
West Warwick police detectives investigated, obtaining video surveillance of the suspect and vehicle, leading them to Coventry.
With the assistance of the Coventry Police Department, the vehicle was located, leading to the identification of Montefusco.
Montefusco will be arraigned in Third District Court Thursday.
