Burglary suspect wounded in officerinvolved shooting Uptown

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An officer-involved shooting in Uptown left a person wounded, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
On Thursday, Oct. 10, NOPD officers responded to the 1200 block of State Street on a call of a residential burglary.
When they arrived, officers searched the area where they reportedly found an unknown subject running away from the area. A chase ensued down the 6000 block of Prytania Street when an officer reportedly fired multiple shots at the subject.
The subject continued to run until officers found him in the 6000 block of Pitt Street suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
NOFD responds to Irish Channel house fire
The person was taken to a hospital for treatment. Upon release, the subject will face charges related to the incident.
No officers were hurt during the incident, according to the NOPD.
