NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man who was wanted in Texas and New Orleans has been arrested following a standoff with New Orleans police on Thursday, Oct. 10.
The New Orleans Police Department reported that officers tried to serve a warrant in the 6000 block of Wales Street around 7:52 a.m. when 24-year-old Devain Washington allegedly barricaded himself inside a home.

NOPD officials said a SWAT roll was then declared. Washington reportedly surrendered to police minutes later.
According to the NOPD, Washington was wanted on aggravated assault charges in North Texas and a court capias for 2021 firearms charges in New Orleans.
