MCFARLAND, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in southern Wisconsin say a joint operation between four police departments led to the arrest of a woman who was allegedly stealing from the elderly. According to a release from the McFarland Police Department, officers from McFarland, Monona, Stoughton, and Fort Atkinson carried out a joint operation on Tuesday, October 9, that led to the arrest of a 49-year-old woman from Fort Atkinson. 48-year-old Wisconsin woman stabs a man lying in bed, arrested for attempted homicide Police say Amber Gwaltney was suspected of using her employment to steal various items from an elderly victim. Gwaltney was taken to the Dane County Jail on charges of burglary and theft that could carry an enhanced penalty due to the age of the victim. At this time no other information is available and an investigation into this incident is currently ongoing.
