Elyria Catholic at Lake Catholic What: Non-conference game Where: Jerome T. Osborne Sr. Stadium When: 7 p.m. Oct. 11 Records: Elyria Catholic 1-6, Lake Catholic 7-0 For the record: This will be a North Coast Conference game next year, but no conference title will be presented this year as not all of the fledging conference’s members play each other. The Panthers will take on the Cougars, who were recently voted the No. 1 team in Division IV. Lake Catholic’s complementary football is as good as it gets. The offense, led by quarterback Frankie Trinetti averages over 35 points per game and its defense allows fewer than seven. Tight end Chris Nimmo stands at 6-5 and is a University of Minnesota commit. Elyria Catholic picked up its first win two weeks ago, but the taste of victory dissipated with a 42-9 loss to Benedictine (5-2). The Panthers schedule has been tough and this game is anticipated to be the the most challenging. Elyria Catholic hangs its hat on its passing attack, which is led by quarterback Darrell Shumpert. Shumpert is at 1,241 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and five interceptions. Connor Petrus leads the Panthers with 416 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
