MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- It’s officially spooky season and one of the top haunted attractions in the country is right here in the DMV. "If you want to get the daylights scared out of you, That's what we're here for," said John Dixon, the Operations Manager at Field of Screams Maryland. Tens of thousands of people visit Field of Screams Maryland every year to get that experience. At Field of Screams, visitors can see the haunted house and walk the mile and half-haunted trail. If you are not into scary things, there are several carnival games and bonfires you can relax near."We've got dozens of really well-trained and talented actors who go above and beyond to create that experience," said Dixon. Christian Cedillos is the Creative Director and creates all of the scary looks. "It’s one of the best jobs, I'm getting paid to play around with make-up and create monsters... it’s pretty cool," said Cedillos Cedillos said the team works early hard to put the best show forward. All of that hard work is being recognized on the national level. "In 2022 we were named by USA Today as the top haunted attraction in the country," said Dixon.
