(WGHP) — Hurricane Milton is moving into the Atlantic Ocean this morning after causing widespread wind and water damage across FL.  It maintained hurricane strength overnight as it crossed the FL peninsula and dumped over a foot of rainfall alone along its path. Milton is currently a Category 1 Hurricane, producing 85 mph sustained winds and wind gusts up to 105 mph.  It's currently 10 miles northeast of Cape Canaveral, moving to the northeast at 18 mph. Local Forecast Clouds from Milton swept across the Piedmont overnight, but as the storm continues its track into the Atlantic, its clouds will also move eastward today.  There is a lot of sunshine to look forward to today with highs in the upper-60's. High pressure keeps us clear and dry tonight. Lows are going to be quite chilly, in the mid-40s. Sunny skies stay put through the weekend though temperatures will be changing quite a lot.  Friday, highs will be near 70°, but on Saturday and Sunday, highs are going to rise to the upper-70s. A strong cold front is poised to cross the state Monday, and this will be a game changer for the start of the work week.  Temperatures will dip into the lower-70's Monday, then dive into the lower-60s for highs Tuesday and Wednesday.  More notably, lows will be in the mid-40s Tuesday morning and upper-30s Wednesday morning!  The forecast stays dry through this timeframe, though partly cloudy skies are expected on Tuesday.
