ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Coming off two-straight losses to the Ravens and Texans, the Bills leadership council held a meeting to discuss keeping the team headed in the right direction. With several notable players from last year no longer with the team, the Bills have been looking for new leaders to step up and set a good example. Head coach Sean McDermott said he is looking toward the more experienced players to make an impact. "One thing we can control is how prepared we are and our preparation," McDermott said. "Those young players, they don't know because they're coming from college. They think they know, but they don't, until you learn the hard way. So it's their job, these veterans, to lead by example, first and foremost, that these young players see this is what it's supposed to look like." Josh Allen is among the veterans who are expected to lead the team in times of adversity. Even with the loss at Houston, Allen has confidence in his team's abilities as it heads into its Monday night game against the Jets. "Joe talked about we could have been 0-2 and went on a three-game win streak, and now we're feeling on top of the world, but because we started 3-0 and we lost the last two against two good teams, you can find yourself questioning things," Allen said. "But we're just sticking together and sticking to the game plan and trusting the process." Along with his fellow captain, Terrel Bernard also touched on "trusting the process." While the linebacker isn't happy with the results of the last two games, he knows his team will make the necessary adjustments. "The main thing was just not to freak out and panic. We are sure of who we are as a team, and obviously there's some things that need to change to get the result that we want. But overall, we're staying to our process and we're doing what we have to do," Bernard said. "The last couple weeks, obviously, the result hasn't been there, but I think the DNA and the characteristics of our team have shown up, and we'll go and grow with that."
