ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Lollypop Farms took the next steps in its massive Kindness for all Kind capital campaign project Wednesday. It marked the start of phase one of construction, creating a new learning center, donation room and space for the shelter's farm animals, among other things. In order to get the project underway, crews first had to move their unofficial mascot, Elmer the cow. He will be taking up residence on the front lawn, so he's not harmed in the construction process. Officials say Elmer's move was also symbolic, marking a new journey for the shelter. The goal is to complete the project within the next couple of years.
