CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - When was the last time Clovis residents saw a pelican wandering in the city?
Officials with Clovis Animal Services say they found the coastal bird outside of a medical office with an injury to its abdomen. Officials say that an animal control officer responded to the call.
Officials say the pelican was a little dehydrated but otherwise in good spirits. It was brought back to the Animal Receiving and Care Center for an evaluation while Clovis Animal Services was contacting a local wildlife agency that could help.
Upon intake, the animal control officer, along with staff, did a quick visual assessment and said they syringe-fed it some water while waiting for transfer.
