TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Does your rural home need repairs? This Tulare County program has the fix. The County of Tulare announced Wednesday the Emergency Repair Program will provide financing to repair income-eligible and owner-occupied homes in need of essential health and safety repairs. To qualify, officials say homeowners must have homeowner's insurance and current property taxes. The program is aimed specifically toward properties located in the unincorporated areas of Tulare County. The county states homeowners who qualify can receive funds for the following eligible repairs: Emergency Home Repairs - repairs on major household components such as living without basic plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, or security. Minor Home Repair - repairs related to enforcing government codes and requirements that homeowners cannot correct due to financial hardship. Lead-Based Paint Removal - for tests and abate owner-occupied homes that test positive for Lead-Based Paint. Roofing Repair and Replacement - repair or replacement of roof.
