A structure fire at a home in upper Deer Valley Tuesday has left it uninhabitable for the time being, according to Park City Fire District Fire Chief Bob Zanetti.A fire crew dispatched around noon Tuesday after being notified of a fire. The house had smoke and flames coming out of the chimney area, Zanetti said. “It was a pretty significant fire,” he said. “We were on scene for over 12 hours just to make sure everything was out, was taken care of — a lot of damage.”16-20 personnel were on scene over the course of the 12 hours, Zanetti said, but most of the crew were there for three to four hours. As a result of the fire, the house isn’t inhabitable at all, according to Zanetti. The fire and its cause are still under investigation. The surrounding area wasn’t at risk, and there were no immediate exposures, according to Zanetti. A part of the crew had stayed to make sure of that, he said.“Anytime you’re up above 7,000 feet, you know, it’s 8,000, 9,000 feet, there’s risk, but no, we were fine on this particular fire,” Zanetti said. “It’s always a concern, and it could happen, but when we arrived, we were aware of that, so (we) kept a close eye on it.” The post Upper Deer Valley fire leaves home uninhabitable appeared first on Park Record.
