Suspect arrested in connection with Hammond homicide investigation

HAMMOND, La. (WGNO) — A suspect was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 9, in connection with a homicide investigation in Hammond.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, around 2 p.m., deputies were called to a shooting at a mobile home in the 41000 block of W Interstate 55 Service Road. On arrival, they reportedly found a man dead inside.
Former Bridge City Youth Center instructor accused of sexual misconduct
Detectives say the shooting allegedly resulted due to an argument between the victim, who hasn't been identified yet, and 35-year-old Johnathan Blackwell.
Blackwell was taken into custody and faces a charge of second-degree murder.
