(WANE) — Halfway through her first F1 Academy season, Fort Wayne resident Chloe Chambers signs with the Red Bull Ford Academy Programme for the 2025 F1 Academy season. F1 Academy drivers can only participate in the series for two years, so Chambers' last season in the academy will be next season. She currently races for drives for Campos Racing, backed by MoneyGram Haas F1 Team. "There's a lot of potential for next year with my results from this year, and then next year being my last year [in the academy]," Chambers said. "Of course, you want to make it a good one. I'll be trying my best to fight for the championship for next year." The 20-year-old resides in Fort Wayne when she is not racing around the world, and was recently home for her Red Bull Ford debut. "It's going to be kind of back and forth [from home] all the time for the next couple of months," Chambers said. "So I'm trying to kind of savor the time that I have at home." Chambers got her first run in the Red Bull livery at the IMSA Mustang Challenge 2024 at the SRO Indianapolis 8 Hour Presented by AWS. She had two 9th-place finishes, jumping 10 spots in the first race. Chloe Chambers signs with the Red Bull Ford Academy Programme for the 2025-2026 F1 Academy season. "That was kind of the perfect place to have [the next season] announcement ... it was really cool to have that weekend as my debut weekend with Red Bull Ford." With only two races left on the F1 Academy schedule, Chambers fights for a championship podium spot. This season she has had numerous podium finishes, including winning race two at Barcelona in late June. "There's about three of us that are kind of in that [championship] group there," Chambers said. "My goal is to try to secure that third place. I mean, it'll be a little bit tough, but I think that it's possible. I'm just looking to do the best that I can here at the end of the season, and do well in my last two races for the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team." Fort Wayne resident Chloe Chambers savoring first F1 Academy win In addition to her recent signing with Red Bull Ford, Chambers was offered a testing spot for Andretti's Formula E team. She will be testing with Andretti Global along with another F1 Academy driver, Nerea Marti. For Andretti, Chambers will travel to the U.K. soon for simulations and seat fittings. Then in November, she will travel to Valencia, Spain to do the testing for Andretti's Formula E team. "It'll be a new experience for me," Chambers said. "I've never driven any kind of electric car ... so it'll be different. Electric racing, of course, is kind of what the future of motorsport is going towards." Chambers races in Lusail (Qatar) and Yas Island (United Arab Emirates) for the final four races of the season. She will also watch the end of the F1 season during her race weekends, in addition to end-of-October and mid-November testing with her current team.
