When combined, FEMA says assistance for survivors in those six states and three Tribal Nations including, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, and Florida has now exceeded $344 million dollars in 375,000 households. In South Carolina alone, FEMA 50 members of their Survivor Assistance teams are on the ground and so far have helped residents get approved for $77 million dollars for 97 thousand households. To date, FEMA has shipped over 17 million meals, close to 14 million liters of water and more than 200 generators to those in need. The agency urges anyone living in the aforementioned states who have been impacted by hurricane Helene to apply for assistance. If approved, many of those survivors will be able to get help with the storm related damage to their home or personal property. It may also include assistance with necessities like food, water, baby formula and additional emergency supplies. FEMA has released a list of three different ways you can apply. Going to the FEMA assistance website at disasterassistance.gov. Calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. Downloading and applying on the FEMA App. If you were deemed ineligible and you think the decision was made in error you can contact FEMA by clicking the link provided  www.fema.gov/fact-sheet/fema-answers-appeals-process-qa.             Categories: Local News, National News, News
