WILLISTON, ND (KXNET) — A Williston woman with an outstanding arrest warrant is being charged with drug paraphernalia possession after she was found in the cargo area of a car her husband was driving. According to the Williston Police Department, at 10:03 p.m. on October 1st, an officer was on patrol when he observed a car traveling closely behind another in the area of 32nd Avenue West and 42nd Street West. The officer stopped the car and observed the driver to be visibly nervous. The driver said he hadn't seen his wife, Jennifer Dawn Smith, in a week. The officer saw a woman lying in the rear cargo area of the car, covered by bags and other items. She was confirmed to be the driver's wife. Williston woman arrested after vehicle search The officer found that she had one or more outstanding arrest warrants, and placed her under arrest. He also received Smith's consent to search her purse, and found a plastic straw homemade smoking device containing residue suspected to be from fentanyl. Smith has a prior conviction for Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - use - Schedule I, II, III, and is facing a similar charge, a Class C Felony. Close Thanks for signing up!
