MINOT, ND (KXNET) — One credit union in the Magic City is helping supply nonprofits with the resources they need to be successful. Last Wednesday, Aspire Credit Union in Minot awarded Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports, a nonprofit that provides sports opportunities for youth and adults living with disabilities, more than $1,880, and over a dozen bags of much-needed supplies of food, cleaning supplies, and various games. All donations Prairie Grit received will go to support Prairie Grit's various therapy programs that help people with social and cognitive growth. Aspire Credit Union Marketing Communications Coordinator Rianne Kuhn says that in the three years the credit union has been helping nonprofits, they always try to address the needs of those they are helping. SNAP replacement benefits available in certain counties "So our goal is to figure out ways to come at the nonprofit needs from different angles so we can make a full circle donation. So this one has items for the therapists working with the Prairie Grit therapy program as well as some monetary support for their organization," said Kuhn. According to Kuhn, of the $1,880 given to Prairie Grit, $1,000 came directly from the credit union, while the other $880 came from its members. While all items that were donated to Prairie Grit came from different food, item, and toy drives that happened this summer, Kuhn says as a credit union they always strive to help nonprofits that need assistance. "So Aspire Community Federal Credit Union, we have community in our name, so we want to be supportive in the community we work, play, and serve in. So we always try to identify a nonprofit that we can support and figure out the best ways with their leadership to make it happen," said Kuhn. Aspire Credit Union will look to support another nonprofit sometime next year. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Subscribe Now Today's Top Stories SIGN UP NOW
