Hurricane Milton made landfall on Wednesday night near Sarasota as an “extremely dangerous” Category 3 storm. The National Hurricane Center warned of “life-threatening storm surge, extreme winds, and flash flooding” over much of central Florida. Even before battering the state, winds from the storm led to multiple tornadoes and tornado warnings.
