MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A woman was arrested after stabbing another woman at a hotel in Parkway Village Wednesday morning, Memphis Police say. Officers responded to the stabbing at the Economy Inn on Lamar Avenue just after 1 a.m. They were told by several people in the hotel that a woman had stabbed someone and then ran north on Lamar. The woman was found by an MPD officer, already handcuffed by a security guard. She was identified as Barbie Ware. Barbie Ware (Courtesy of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office) The victim told police that she and her friend were checking in at the hotel when they encountered Ware, who allegedly threatened to kill the victim. She said they ignored Ware and walked to their room on the second floor, but Ware followed. 15-year-old missing after stealing father’s AR-15 rifle: MPD Reports say Ware then attacked the victim with a knife, stabbing her in the right wrist and cutting her in the stomach. The victim was transported to Regional One in non-critical condition. Ware is charged with aggravated assault and is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday morning. Her bond has not been set.
