ISP: White County deputies shoot, kill suspect armed with knife

MONON, Ind. — State police are investigating a deadly shooting after White County sheriff's deputies shot and killed an allegedly armed man on Tuesday night.
According to Indiana State Police, White County deputies were called to a liquor store in Monon at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday on reports of an intoxicated individual causing a distrubance.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot with deputies tracking down the individual to a nearby residence on State Road 16.
It is at this residence that deputies allegedly made contact with the suspect who police said was armed with a knife. The suspect reportedly advanced toward deputies while holding the kinfe causing at least one deputy to open fire.
The suspect ended up being transported to a hospital in Monticello where they were pronounced dead. At this time, the identity of the suspect has been withheld pending notification of kin.
Indiana State Police are investigating the shooting. Their findings will be submitted to the White County Prosecutor's Office for review.
