Whisker Wednesday: Meet Puppy, a cat up for adoption in Baton Rouge
Oct 09, 2024
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Holly Carey of Cat Haven introduced a cute two-year-old domestic shorthair cat named Puppy.
She is one of the cats who were rescued earlier this year from the hoarding situation in Crowley. Puppy is a sweet girl who will love snuggling up with anyone. She loves other cats and kids. Not only is she loveable and playful, but she's also very talkative. If you love the sweet sounds of a cat's meow, then you'll get to hear this girl all the time. Puppy's adoption fee is $125.
There are multiple ways to help Cat Haven if you're unable to adopt. Carey said the shelter needs people to foster cats because the shelter is full. Cat Haven not only takes in stray cats and owner surrenders, but they have also helped other local shelters by taking in cats that were scheduled to be euthanized.
Cat Haven is in the process of raising money for a new shelter to expand space to house more cats. They also accept monetary donations and donations of cat supplies.
The shelter has an upcoming fundraising event called Cat Tales and Cocktails set for Saturday, Oct. 26. Guests can dress up in Halloween costumes and enjoy good food, drinks and entertainment while raising money for Cat Haven.
Visit cathaven.org to fill out an adoption application for Puppy and to find more information about upcoming events, donating and fostering.
