BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A 39-year-old Bakersfield man pleaded guilty to burglarizing a United States Post Office in Caliente in 2023. Officials with the United States Department of Justice say Shawn Van Dixon allegedly broke into the United States Postal Service in Caliente on Oct. 28, 2023. Griffin Resources LLC files for bankruptcy Van Dixon allegedly stole several envelopes, letters, packages and mail items belonging to at least 10 people and then drove off in an alleged stolen truck. Officials say Van Dixon allegedly broke into the post office with a black hatchet. Van Dixon is scheduled for sentencing on Jan. 25, 2025.
