The running of Danny Alfieri (87 yards, three TDs) and passing of Max Paul (138 yards, one TD), as well as a defense that kept giving the ball to the Hornets in Berkshire territory, did the trick. Chagrin, which hasn’t qualified for the playoffs in a non-COVID year since 2013, can’t give Kirtland short fields like Berkshire did last week. Jacob Kay has thrown for 957 yards and run for a team-high 462 yards. Jack Gellin has also run for 428 yards for Chagrin. For the Tigers to have any sort of a chance, they need to find a way to move the ball on Kirtland’s tough defense and also slow down the Hornets’ vaunted running attack.
