Oct 09, 2024
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence City Council is asking the public for feedback on the city’s comprehensive plan.
The plan is is comprised of policies dealing with land use, housing, environmental concerns, transit, and many other important city issues over the next ten years.
Last week, city council removed the RIPTA bus hub relocation from the plan.
Today’s public comment period is the third in the process.
The public hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. tonight, at city hall’s council chamber.
The Providence Planning Commission is also holding its first community meeting on the “Safe Streets for All” initiative at the Bell Street Chapel at 6 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to give their ideas about plans to improve traffic safety, and expand urban trails.
If you can’t make the meeting tonight, there will be three other public meetings this month.
