IMPD: Stolen Kia crashes into south side pawn shop during attempted theft

INDIANAPOLIS – Would-be thieves crashed a stolen car into a south side Indianapolis pawn shop early Wednesday morning.
Indianapolis Metropolitan police were dispatched to a business alarm around 4:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of S. East St.
Images from the scene showed a car had crashed into the building for First Cash Pawn.

According to IMPD, the suspect was unsuccessful in getting inside the business and left the scene in a different vehicle driven by an accomplice.
At this time, police aren’t sure how many people were involved in the attempted theft. Investigators said the Kia that crashed into the business had been stolen.
The incident remains under investigation.
