The Lake County Genealogical Society will be holding a virtual session at 10 a.m. Oct. 17 which will feature John Tracy Cunningham talking about the “Effective Use of FamilySearch.” FamilySearch is a website by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to help people of every culture discover their heritage and connect with family members by offering genealogical records, education, and software. The Lake County Genealogical Society actively supports the genealogical collection at Morley Library in Painesville by donating materials, staffing the genealogy room, acquiring, sharing and filing genealogical newsletters, indexing items, and answering queries. Additions to the genealogical room include three new index volumes of the Silver Books tracing the descendants of the Mayflower.
