SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Video circulating on social media shows a person spraying graffiti on Manny's Restaurant in San Francisco, an incident that purportedly happened on Sunday. The San Francisco Police Department said it is investigating the vandalism as "hate-related." Manny's is owned by an Israeli-American named Manny Yekutiel. The vandalism happened on the eve of the first anniversary of Hamas' attacks on Israel. The video shows a person with their face covered spray-painting "Dems fund murder" and "Arms embargo now" on the wall and window of the business located at 3092 16th St. Bystanders walked by without stopping the man. SFPD said Tuesday that it was investigating the vandalism as a hate crime. No arrests have yet been made. Man stabbed, attacked with golf club in downtown SF State Sen. Scott Wiener said there was an "anti-Israel protest" being held in front of Manny's on the day of the vandalism. "On the eve of the first anniversary of October 7, anti-Israel protesters chose to hold their protest in front of a Jewish-owned business. Not surprisingly, that business was promptly targeted & vandalized," Wiener said. Manny's plans to hold a forum with BART Board District 9 candidates Joe Sangirardi AND Edward Wright on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Yekutiel declined an interview with KRON4 when reached on Sunday. Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call SFPD at (415) 575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and begin the message with "SFPD."
