TOPEKA (KSNT) - The City of Topeka could name its new police chief next month. A City of Topeka clerk announced during Tuesday's city council meeting a public meet-and-greet with the candidates for the chief of the Topeka Police Department (TPD). This opportunity for residents to meet the possible next Chief of Police will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6 in the Emerald Ballroom at the Hotel Topeka. Topeka City Manager Robert Perez has called a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Nov. 7 to discuss the Police Chief candidates, with the hopes to choose the next leader of TPD.
