PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Some Prince George County residents will see temporary water shutdowns on Wednesday and Thursday as a new water main is connected in the area. On Wednesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct. 10, residents along Bull Hill and Courthouse roads, as well as Way Church on Courthouse Road, will have their water service temporarily shut off during this scheduled work. In total, 30 residential homes will be affected. According to the county, those homes should see a door hanger placed on their front door on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Shutdowns will begin no earlier than 9 p.m. and are expected to last between five and seven hours. According to the county, water should be restored by 4 p.m. each day. Report finds 3 Virginia universities at ‘some risk’ of shutdown due to finances The Caton Construction Group, in coordination with Prince George County Engineering and Utilities, will connect a new water main near the intersection of Bull Hill and Courthouse roads. According to the county, this is part of a Virginia Department of Transportation project. "A boil water advisory is not expected to be necessary," the county said in the announcement. "The contractor has performed the necessary testing and sampling to ensure the new water main and the water meets the Virginia Department of Health’s standards for safe drinking water."
