NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Cooler and drier air is moving into the northern Gulf Coast region in the wake of a cold front. While high temperatures will remain in the low to mid 80s, the drop in humidity will make conditions feel much more pleasant. High pressure building into the region will lead to clearer skies and lower overnight temperatures, with lows dipping into the upper 60s south and upper 50s north. Winds will shift to the northeast at 10 to 15 mph, and the quiet weather pattern is expected to last through the weekend. Though the temperatures won’t be significantly cooler, the drier air will provide a noticeable improvement in comfort for those spending time outdoors. Several days of sunny skies and mild conditions are in the forecast, stretching through the weekend and into next week.
