POLK, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities were led on a high-speed chase on Monday night that ended after a PIT maneuver on the suspect vehicle. According to a release, a deputy from the Washington County Sheriff's Office initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 41 near County Highway K on a vehicle for multiple equipment violations. Police chase down suspect after report of firearm at popular public park The driver, identified as a 32-year-old woman from Milwaukee, initially signaled to pull over but then reportedly abruptly accelerated. The woman allegedly turned off the vehicle's headlights and attempted to flee. Deputies successfully deployed road spikes near County Highway D in Wayne. The pursuit continued for several miles at a slow speed of ten to fifteen miles per hour. Eventually, a Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office deputy successfully executed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver, forcing the fleeing vehicle to turn 180 degrees and stop. The driver was taken into custody and is now facing multiple charges, including bail jumping, possession of drug paraphernalia, and felony fleeing. A passenger, a 34-year-old Milwaukee man, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for possession of cocaine, along with a new Washington County charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.
