4 taken to hospital from Formosa Plastics in Baton Rouge, officials say

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Four people were transported to the hospital from Formosa Plastics in Baton Rouge after they were exposed to ammonia on Tuesday, Oct. 8, according to emergency medical services officials.
Baton Rouge EMS said four people were taken to the hospital from Formosa Plastics, which is along the Mississippi River, on Tuesday. According to Baton Rouge EMS, two of the patients are in critical condition. Baton Rouge EMS says they are currently at the scene.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, a cylinder at the facility was compromised. BRFD stated, "There is no danger to the public."
