Authorities have charged a fast food worker with fatally shooting two men at a J&J Fish and Chicken restaurant following an argument Monday night on the city’s Southwest Side. Medhi Medellel, 42, of South Shore, faces two counts of first-degree murder, according to Chicago police. Officers arrested Medellel about half an hour after authorities said he fled from the Ashburn restaurant in the 7800 block of South Western Avenue where he allegedly shot and killed two men, ages 55 and 56. The younger man was shot in the face and the older man was shot in the head, police said. Both men were pronounced dead at the restaurant. The Cook County medical examiner’s office hadn’t released identities for either victim. Medellel is set to appear for a detention hearing on Wednesday at the Leighton Criminal Court Building.
