FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is getting ready for its annual Halloween party, but this year, zoo staff say they are taking fall festivities to new heights - literally. For the first time in ZooBoo history, the savanna will come alive with synchronized drones set to "hauntingly beautiful" music. The drone shows will light up the sky every Thursday and Friday night of the event. ZooBoo will also feature hundreds of pumpkins, a pirate ship adventure with a giant squid monster, live pumpkin carving demonstrations, magic shows, and trick-or-treat stations. The cafe will be open and offering specialty spooky treats throughout the event. Guests also have the opportunity to embark on a spooky adventure with the ZooBoo VIP Experience. VIPs get to feed the giraffes on the extended feeding platform, conjure up their own festive magnet, and enjoy the zoo’s new drone light show from reserved VIP seats. ZooBoo is open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., starting Oct. 17 every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday leading up to Halloween. Halloween night is only open to those 21 and older. Tickets start at $16 and can be purchased on the zoo’s website.
