Livermore man identified as person killed in Oakland crash involving stolen car

(BCN) -- A Livermore man with an extensive criminal history died early Saturday morning after crashing an alleged stolen car into a pole in Oakland.
Police say the man, identified by the Alameda County Coroner's Office as 45-year-old Jacy Meier, was speeding in the eastbound lanes of San Leandro Street near 51st Avenue when he hit a utility pole at about 3:45 a.m.

The car was reported stolen from a neighboring city, police said.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and pronounced Meier, the lone occupant of the car, dead. Police don't yet know if drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.
Meier had a list of several felony and misdemeanor cases dating back more than 20 years.
