SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) - Gov. Brian Kemp has declared a State of Emergency ahead of Hurricane Milton. The order went into effect on Tuesday, Oct. 8. It has been predicted that Hurricane Milton may have severe impacts in areas of Georgia that could include flash flooding, downed trees and power lines, road debris and power outages that could lead to citizens not having access to essential public services. The order will allow assistance from the state to provide for the public's safety, protect public and private property and maintain the social and economic welfare of the state. The order comes on the same day as the extended State of Emergency Kemp issued for counties still affected by Hurricane Helene. Gov.
