Oct 08, 2024
BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) – In support of individuals displaced due to Hurricane Helene, the Beaufort County Library has offered a temporary waiver of the $40 "non-resident card" fee to those residing in the County while their communities recover.
Only residents of areas affected by Hurricane Helene are eligible. The card will be valid for one year and gives access to library resources.
"All across the Lowcountry, communities are coming together to help those impacted by Hurricane Helene. This is something our library can do to provide comfort and connection while people are away from home,” said Library Director Amanda Brewer Dickman.
Non-Beaufort County residents to which this situation applies are asked to:1) Provide an ID and current address from their home state2) Provide the address of their temporary Beaufort County residence (AirBNB, hotel, relative’s house, etc.)
Library cards are always free to Beaufort County residents ages 4 and older. For more information, visit https://www.beaufortcountylibrary.org/.
