GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - The 30-year-old Green Bay woman who crashed into the building that's known as Main Street Commons in July of 2023 was sentenced on Tuesday. During Merissa Reed's sentencing hearing in the Brown County Courthouse on Oct. 8, 2024, Judge Samantha Wagner sentenced Reed to one year in jail, followed by four years of probation. California woman sentenced to prison for attempting to distribute methamphetamine in Wisconsin Officers from the Green Bay Police Department were sent to the Main Street Commons at around 10:45 p.m. after a report of a minivan that crashed into the building, causing part of the facade to fall from the structure. Fox Valley man sentenced to federal prison for drug and gun charges Authorities say that the initial reports by witnesses indicated reckless driving as the cause of the crash. The crash resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to Reed as well as the passenger of the vehicle. Reed was charged with three felonies, including reckless driving causing great bodily harm, felony bail jumping, and knowingly operating while suspended causing great bodily harm. However, the final felony charge was dismissed, but it was read in as part of her no contest plea in August.
