EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) –  The dictionary defines a role model as a person looked to by others as an example to be imitated. I know an eight-year-old role model who is an example to her peers and grownups. Kaylee Brown earned the title of Royal International Miss Texas Role Model. Kaylee and her parents, Lizette and Patrick Brown, have raised a smart, poised, and charismatic young lady. Her beauty runs deep because Kaylee is faith-filled. She gives glory to God in everything she does because she learned this at home. Kaylee did her homework at home, school, and church and learned what the Stand with Estela Casas Cancer Foundation does in the community. She raised $1,105 for the SWECCF, one presentation, and one dollar at a time. That money will help pay for ten mammograms for women without health insurance. She dressed in her regalia, sipped English tea, and ate finger sandwiches like royalty! Kaylee and I also compared shoes. She won the contest because her shoes were shiny and had a big pink bow appropriate for a queen. My shoes are just maroon velvet platforms. Congratulations to Lizette and Patrick for raising a Queen.
