(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) announced on Tuesday, Oct. 8, that an additional 35 members of Colorado Task Force 1 (CO-TF1) will be sent to Florida to assist with Hurricane Milton, including 10 members from CSFD. RELATED STORY: UPDATE: Task Force 1 goes to Florida ahead of Milton According to CSFD, the four CSFD members currently in Florida will be transitioned to come home soon, having finished serving in North Carolina for Hurricane Helene rescue efforts. CSFD has 17 total members assigned to CO-TF1. CSFD reiterated that sending personnel to help in rescue and recovery efforts in the east will not impact operations in Colorado Springs in any way.
