BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The 500 block of Bayou Paul Lane is closed due to an incident involving an 18-wheeler on Tuesday. According to the St. Gabriel Police Department, an 18-wheeler heading west reportedly pulled down multiple poles and power lines on Bayou Paul Lane, causing a power outage. Entergy spokesperson David Freese said he is aware of the situation along Bayou Paul Lane and can confirm the vehicle hit a power line and broke two utility poles. Freese anticipates the power will be restored late Tuesday afternoon. The poles reportedly damaged at least one home. SGPD said crews are on-site assessing the situation and attempting to make repairs. The police ask that drivers find alternate routes.
