BOSTON (WWLP) - Red Sox pitching legend Luis Tiant has died. Hurricane Milton forces NFL, NHL and other sporting events to adjust game plans Nicknamed "El Tiante," he won 229 games in a 19-year major league career, which included eight seasons in Boston during the 1970's. Tiant was born in Cuba and had four 20-win seasons, three of them with the Red Sox. He is a member of the Red Sox Hall of Fame and the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Hall of Fame. Tiant was on the Baseball Hall of Fame ballot for 15 years, but he was not selected by the writers. He was later considered on the "Golden Era" ballot but was not selected. "El Tiante" was 83 years old.
