Lexington, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Kentucky Utilities is deploying approximately 150 crew members to Florida in preparation for Hurricane Milton. The team will include line technicians, tree trimmers, safety crew members, and additional personnel. Officials from Kentucky Utilities stated that the crew members are gearing up for long hours as they collaborate with local utility teams to restore power and assess potential damage from hurricane-level winds. This aid comes less than two weeks after Kentucky Utilities received support for their own recovery efforts. “I mean other utilities do that for us, when we had significant impacts here in Kentucky, like we did recently, you know we had about 400 line technicians and support personnel that came and helped us, just a little while ago. So we’re glad to be able to help others,” said Daniel Lowry with Kentucky Utilities. Meanwhile, other organizations in Kentucky, including the Winchester Fire Department and Kentucky State Police, continue to provide assistance to North Carolina in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
