Former custodian with Olathe Schools granted probation after child sex crimes

John Houghton, 53, was given three years of probation. He worked for Mission Trail Middle School as a custodian beginning in April 2022.

The district attorney's office said that he received probation and added that the prosecutor argued that he serve his prison sentence.
Mission police arrested Houghton in late January. Olathe Public Schools told FOX4 the arrest did not happen on campus. Once the school district learned of his arrest, it fired him and banned him from returning to school property.
